MAN Group member R A Labone offers technical injection moulding and insert moulding for customers around the world.
Labone is able to mould parts weighing from less than 1g up to 400g in most commodity and engineering polymers for markets including automotive, building safety and medical in its Derbyshire factory, while its Labone Castleside subsidiary in Co. Durham complements this with larger mouldings up to 4.5kg .
These facilities enable the MAN group to offer the complete range of services for the supply of custom injection mouldings: from design for manufacture consultation through tool manufacture to high quality manufacturing and logistics.
Injection moulding is a manufacturing technique used to create parts by forcing molten thermoplastics into a mould cavity, where it cools and solidifies into the desired shape. The process is ideal for mass production, creating thousands or millions of identical parts with consistent quality.
Insert moulding is a variant of this where metal components are placed into the mould before injecting the molten plastic, so that the metal components become an integral part of the moulding. This is typically used to add mechanical strength or electrical contacts.

With over 60 years of experience, MAN Group member R A Labone offers a full service for your injection moulded components. Our experienced team of engineers work with you from initial product concept through material selection, moldflow simulation, mould tool design & manufacture, product & process implementation and into full production. We manufacture mouldings in a vast range of thermoplastics from Polyethylene to Polyetherimide.
By working with us you will get the benefits of the full range of our capabilities and knowledge to help make your components the best they can be.
