MAN Group member Brandauer is one of the largest contract presswork and high-speed precision stamping companies in Europe, manufacturing precision metal components for customers around the world.
Brandauer is able to provide precision stamped components to some of the most exacting industry requirements, exporting significant volumes to markets involved in automotive, electronics, medical, mil-aero, renewables and telecom.
Thanks to expert in-house progression tooling, a proven tool transfer service and 5t to 125 tonne press capacity, the group can cater for the development and manufacture of innovative miniturised component solutions in difficult materials. Precision is especially important when it comes to small components and metal stamping, and some of the world’s emerging markets and most established alike are reliant on companies like Brandauer producing micron-accurate parts at high power press speeds.
Brandauer offer the complete range of services required for the supply of precision stamped metal components: from consultation, prototyping and design through to in-house tool production, high-quality manufacturing and logistics.
Stamping or pressing is the process of placing flat sheet metal in either blank or coil form into a stamping press where a progression press tool forms the metal into a net shape.
This could be achieved in a single stage operation where every stroke of the press produces the desired form, or could occur through a series of stages. Stamping includes a variety of sheet-metal forming manufacturing processes, such as punching using a machine press or stamping press, blanking, embossing, bending, flanging, and coining.
Brandauer is splitting microns at its facility in Birmingham and to put that into perspective, a single hair comprises 40 microns. It is this kind of precision that brings Brandauer’s capabilities in the design and manufacture of pressed metal components to the fore.
Everything stamped by Brandauer fits in the palm of your hand and is often fundamental to the operation of products, devices and vehicles used all over the world, every single day.
Brandauer also offers a range of ‘own products’, including Self-Adhesive Cable Clips, Electrical Steel Laminations, and EloPin Press-Fit®.
Using its progression and precision press tools, Brandauer has been manufacturing precision metal components for customers around the world for decades. Brandauer is capable of working with the widest range of metals and continue to invest in the best technology to manage the in-house design and manufacture of progression press tooling.
The design and manufacture of any Brandauer progression press tool benefits from bespoke CAD software, including Visi Vero 3D which uses intelligent 3D Toolpaths with High Speed Milling routines, the latest WireEDM technology and the experience and know-how of expert tool designers and makers.
It is this which is crucial to Brandauer’s unique tooling standards offer which includes ‘Standard Fixed’, ‘Precision’ and ‘Modular’ tooling.
As winners of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade, Brandauer is recognised as a leading global exporter of precision metal components by the highest industry accolade. 85% of the firm’s current annual sales is exported to international markets, half of which is direct from its factory in Birmingham.
The Brandauer Innovative Solution Centre (BISC) is a structured approach to consultation with a dedicated hierarchy of tiered and affordable support.
Brandauer’s knowledge in manufacturing precision metal components is compartmentalised into a variety of disciplines, which can be called upon in various levels of consultation for customers looking for business improvement, process development, and product development support.
