MAN Group member James Lister & Sons Limited provides all forms of engineering and industrial supplies and tools, lubricants, workwear and PPE, office supplies, hygiene and janitorial products, supported by a full range of stock management services.
Engineering supplies include ground flat stock, fasteners, including power tools, hand tools and more.
Lister has four strategically located branches across the Midlands, distribution centres and trade counters, with most deliveries same or next day. Lister provide standard deliveries plus binfill, and store location replenishment.
From Lister’s quick response, and rapid quotations, to same day despatch for orders before 3pm, everything is aimed at providing the best possible service.
Lister holds extensive stock at all branches, backed up by a central storage facility in Smethwick. Internal branch transfers occur once or twice per day to ensure that supplies can be delivered out to customers from their local branch as required.
Lister has more than 100 years’ experience of stock management in client premises, with more than 50 of its current customers utilising services in this way. Every implementation is tailored to specific needs, but in all cases will offer extensive analytical and IT backup to provide usage reports and analysis to support; future demand prediction, consolidation of similar items and cost saving replacement proposals.
Lister has significant in-house expertise in everything from cutting tools to lubricants and hygiene products but can also call on the group’s manufacturing experts at a moment’s notice and will often be on-hand to visit your facility to identify the best possible solution to your requirements.
Rather than one central call and distribution centre, Lister believe that being local brings greater advantages, both in terms of speed of response and personal relationships with its customers. Each branch has a branch manager, with many years of supplies experience, and working alongside a customer service and warehouse/despatch team. Delivery drivers and external sales representatives are based locally, but also work in harmony across the business to ensure smooth and seamless support.
