Technical Injection Moulding
Founded in 1965, based in Derbyshire UK, we remain privately owned and our philosophy of excellence through continued investment in both human and technical resources is the key to the company’s success. This, in conjunction with the flexibility to react to the changing needs of the market, has earned Labone a strong reputation for quality and reliability.
Labone specialises in technical injection moulding and insert moulding, and has complimentary metal pressing and assembly capabilities, all to ISO / IATF approved processes. We also have in-house toolmaking facilities and expertise in the manufacture of automated assembly systems.
The ability to take products from concept through to full-scale production allows Labone to service a wide spectrum of applications for our global client base.
With over 5,000m2 of floor space we produce over 2.5 million mouldings per month for customers across multiple sectors including automotive, healthcare, and building safety. We offer class 7 cleanroom moulding where required.

We have over 60 years of experience in supporting customers through the development and manufacture of a varied range of injection mouldings, insert mouldings, metal pressings, assemblies, heated screen connectors and associated tooling.
Product Development
We help our customers to optimise their designs for efficient and cost-effective manufacturing, while minimising the risks of poor quality. This can include Autodesk Moldflow analysis of injection moulding designs where applicable. We can also manufacture or source prototype parts for your development process.
Reverse Engineering
Using our 3D laser scanner, we can produce a 3D model of your existing component. This can be used to ensure the CAD model or component drawing matches the actual component before any new tooling is manufactured.
New Tooling
We manage your tooling program from initial design reviews through to final sign-off. We have the option to manufacture tooling in-house, or at our approved partners in UK, Europe or Asia depending on the specific requirements.
Tooling Transfer
We are happy to receive your existing tooling for production, subject of course to the tools being compatible with our manufacturing plant. We will inspect the tooling, issue a report and carry out any modifications/repairs required prior to production.
Automation
Where appropriate we will develop and source the automation required to produce high volume products cost-effectively to the highest quality standards. This ranges from simple robot demould and camera inspection through to complete manufacture and test systems that need to run 24hrs per day, 5 days per week, 50 weeks per year.
R A Labone prides itself on providing the highest quality and has the appropriate accreditations and measurement equipment to back this up.
