It’s a big day for the Manufacturing Assembly Network (MAN) as we are hosting our first ever Design and Make Challenge at Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG).
The all-day event brings together 32 Year 12 pupils from eight local schools and gives them the opportunity to test out their engineering skills to create a product that can win three prizes for the lightest, most innovative and easiest to manufacture.
MAN engineers and apprentices will be supporting the pupils throughout the challenge before a high-profile judging panel will announce the winning schools, who will be given a 3D Printer kindly donated by Create Education.
This is the start of a series of activities we are looking to host over the course of the year and is our commitment to helping industry bridge the skills gap and develop the engineers of the future.
We’ll be sharing updates and photos throughout the day so check out #mandmc on twitter for more.
The Manufacturing Assembly Network is a collaboration of 9 sub-contract manufacturers and an engineering design agency.
Its membership includes Alucast, Brandauer, Grove Design, James Lister & Sons, KimberMills International, Muller, Nemco, PP Control & Automation and WMG.
